Recently KSJC has met with the KNPD (Kummissjoni Nazzjonali Persuni b’Dizabilita) in order to discuss how the JC facilities could improve in order to better suit persons with special needs. According to Owen Farrugia (KSJC PRO), the meeting focussed on whether the JC premises are actually accessible and are catering for everyone’s needs.
Dr. Joe Camileri on behalf of KNPD explained to us that a feasibility study was commissioned and that a set of proposals were drafted and sent to the UoM. Furthermore, Dr. Joe Camileri stressed out the importance that students with special needs could still contribute to the college/ student life. It is evident that the JC premises need more investment and heavy investment. However, the new building is supposed to provide for the needs of everyone and in line with the EU objectives.
