Wi-fi connected but...
Tuesday, 10 November 2009 21:20

The previous KSJC worked hard to assist the Principal in any way possible to successfully install the Wi-fi connections in time. Although it was prolonged due to technical reasons it was fully installed by the end of November of last year. Yet, students had been denied access and could not log on the internet. It was during the first week of October, during Freshers Week, that the students were given the access to log on the net.

Despite all of this, KSJC had held a petition last May to gather signatories in order to speed up this process and to emphasize the importance of having an e-sims installed. The wi-fi log in name and password could be used to log on to the e-sims. More than 1,000 students had signed this petition and the KSJC board members met with the JC Administration to further probe into the matter and proposed the E-Sims system.

The Council members were pleased to be informed that the JC Administration had decided to install the e-sims system and that a login name and password where given to all JC students. However, students are yet again being denied access to the net.

When contacted Kyle Civelli said that recently there were some technical difficulties but still the KSJC is meeting with the JC Administration in order to identify the reasoning behind denying access to students.
