The KSJC (Kunsill Studenti Junior College) is your student council whose main aim is to voice students will and concerns. KSJC is a student body with no political attachments whatsoever and represents all JC students. Our goal is to meet and fulfil the students’ needs. The KSJC consists of 7 board members that are elected by fellow JC students through annual elections held in December.
The board members’ roles are clearly defined by the Official KSJC statute whereby they are obliged to fulfill their manifesto according to its framework. Moreover, KSJC forms part of the KSU’s Social Policy Commission and represents JC students’ interest when it comes to KSU’s decision making with regards to the JC.
The KSJC aims to:
- Represent JC students on a national and international level
- Voice students’ concerns
- Safeguard their interest and strengthen their rights
- Fulfill students’ needs with regards to JC matters or any other student-related issues
- Promote education and cultural activities amongst students
Meanwhile KSJC aims to keep continuous discussions with and between students’ organisations and civil and education authorities in order to help the students improve their two-year experience within the Junior College. Not only KSJC works hard for the benefit of the students, it also strives to bring opportunities for the students when it comes to jobs, advanced studies and recreation. Our work also extends beyond the local scenario to an international level in which KSJC works hard to establish different relationships amonst Maltese and other foreign students.
Every year an election is held whereby every JC student could vote in order to elect their preferred student representatives. These elections are contested by JC student organizations, normally Pulse and SDM. The elected team will work upon various projects that cater for the students’ need, while organizing regular educational and recreational activities. For the past two consecutive years, PULSE has won these elections having all of its candidates being successfully elected into the KSJC.
Upon being elected, council members work upon their respective electoral manifesto. Recently KSJC has successfully managed to refurbish the Pjazza, erect the Study Garden, held the necessary office maintenance, installing signage and organizing events and parties. Surely the most successful yearly event is the PROM!
We would like to encourage you to be part of all the activity, not only by participating in the upcoming events but also by leading a healthy students life with all the opportunities found within the JC. All of you, irrespective of your political, religious and social background, deserve to be well-represented by your KSJC council because for us, STUDENTS MATTER!
KSJC’s is set up for the ultimate reason to be a worthy service for the students. Therefore KSJC members are always willing to help anyone who would be willing to put forward any suggestions or complaints. Anyone who would need assistance from the KSJC should not hesitate to contact anyone from the KSJC members. Your voice counts!
